ReelAbilities Film Festival: Northern Virginia

The Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (the J) is proud to host it’s 6th Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival: Northern Virginia, dedicated to representing the lives, stories, and artistic expressions of people with different abilities. This dynamic festival, March 10-18, 2017, presents both domestic and international award-winning films, and interactive programming that expose the vibrant personalities, the creativities, the realities, and the extraordinary abilities of people who are differently abled.

About the Festival

Initiated at the JCC in  Manhattan, in 2007, ReelAbilities was the first festival of its kind to present award-winning films by and about people with different abilities. In 2012, Cincinnati, Ohio was the first city to follow in New York’s footsteps by hosting a ReelAbilities Film Festival. Since then, the festival has spread to over a dozen cities in North America. Through film, art and discussion, ReelAbilities brings together the community to explore and celebrate the diversity of our shared human experience.
